Supporting a Global Motor Finance Company Through a Strategic Merger
Teamwill UK played a pivotal role in supporting our client, a global motor finance company, during a transformative merger which resulted in the creation of a leading global multi-brand leasing company. This new entity consolidated the operations of two separate companies, enabling them to pool resources and expertise to form a more robust global leasing brand. Among the key projects that Teamwill led were the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for internal staff and the dealer network, as well as a technically complex initiative focused on the integration and consolidation of operations. This included separating retail and rental functions across the front, middle, and back-office systems. Even after the merger, we continue to collaborate with the client on numerous projects, driving continuous improvements and managing regular system upgrades.

Our Client
The global motor finance company operates in 19 countries and boasts nearly a century of experience in car financing and rental. Recently, the launch of a new rental and mobility company marked a major milestone, positioning the company as an independent operator ready to explore a diverse range of opportunities and partnerships.
Our Engagement
Merger: Building a New Multi-Brand Leasing Company
Teamwill took the lead in overseeing key merger-related projects in the UK and the Netherlands. From planning, configuration and delivery – start to finish.
In the wake of the merger, a strategic decision was made for one company to adopt the other’s systems in order to join operations. The challenge was that each company used distinct front, middle, and back-office systems, creating a knowledge gap that had to be bridged.
To address this, our learning and development experts crafted 18 online training modules for both countries. These modules featured instructional videos on business processes and interactive sections that allowed users to practice key tasks for better engagement and retention. In the UK, we complemented the online training with 14 virtual classroom sessions, while in the Netherlands, we tailored the content for local delivery in Dutch.
Our focus also extended to the integration of front, middle, and back-office operations, with an emphasis on the necessary data segregation to ensure compliance between the bank’s retail activities and the leasing company’s rental operations.
Key Implementation Steps:
- Project Scoping: Initial analysis to determine the scope of the project, including impacted departments, processes, products, and stakeholders.
- Business Process Workshops: Identifying necessary changes or new workflows resulting from the consolidation and segregation of activities.
- Technical Analysis and Configuration: A thorough review of the client’s IT infrastructure, followed by system configuration to implement the most effective solutions.
- Acceptance Testing: Developing test scripts to cover critical business scenarios, supporting the client through user acceptance testing.
- Data Management: Creating new dealer contacts, sales users, and internal profiles in front, middle, and back-office systems, ensuring seamless business operations from day one without affecting the segregation.
- Hypercare: A three-month period of dedicated support for both the UK and Netherlands teams, addressing any issues or change requests swiftly.
Continuous Improvement & Business As Usual
Beyond the successful merger integration, Teamwill continues to support the client in the Netherlands by driving change, improving process efficiencies, and tackling day-to-day operational challenges to ensure smooth business continuity. For example, we helped transition from paper-based communications to email, making customer outreach easier to track, modify, and update.
Our team has also played a key role in several groundbreaking projects, such as the launch of a new e-commerce platform, which significantly expanded the client’s market reach.
More recently, we’ve been involved in the setup of the group’s new rental and mobility company. This new initiative is designed to democratise green mobility, making it accessible to a broader audience while offering a complete, 360-degree range of solutions for the future.
Conclusion
In summary, Teamwill is a vital partner in helping our client drive key projects that enhance market penetration, streamline internal processes, and modernise operations. By transitioning away from outdated manual methods, we ensure that our client remains competitive and positioned for continued success in the ever-evolving industry.
